We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of Head of Corporate - Area, RGE ( Band 4).
The purpose of the job is to plan, formulate and implement effective business strategies as well as to manage and control all aspects by driving the increase in CMB's market shares, revenue /profits within the framework of the Global CMB Strategy; and meeting the annual operating plan and other parameters .
To drive the business to maximize TOI/RORA,/NFI growth and cost-income ratio ;
Understand the key components of RGE Corporate business P&L and balance sheet (e.g. NFI, NII, Assets & Liabilities) and drive up profitability in the said segment ;
Monitor performance vs AOP/ROP and follow through with plans and track achievements so as to meet/exceed agreed business targets for the overall business unit ;
Effectively manage direct expenses while overseeing any allocated indirect expenses (if applicable).
Manage business relationship-building, (especially at senior levels) to enhance the value, increase share of customers' wallets and the profile of HSBC CMB;
Consider all strategic and key credit risk issues when approving facilities within lending limit or recommending for approval those exceeding own limit by ensuring vigilant monitoring /control of credit quality under threat by taking timely and decisive actions through managing-down/ exit strategy/ protecting the associated credit exposure of RGE's Corporate portfolio.
Ensure that credit reviews are kept up-to-date and that problem accounts are identified and dealt with at an early stage.
Ensure operational controls, compliance & escalation processes are in place.
To ensure vigilant monitoring/control and to take decisive actions on credit quality under threat/ delinquent accounts so as to prevent further deterioration in asset quality and to prevent losses to the Bank.
Provide leadership to motivate the frontline staff so as to maximize their potential.
Contributes to the performance and career- development of executives and staff
As senior member of CMB Corporate team, attend and actively participate in CMB EXCO meetings/discussion
Minimum 10 years of managerial and corporate banking experience with exposure in/to trade services, payments and cash management and treasury products.
Have spent 5 years or more managing a large CMB branch / CMB centre.
Strong marketing and sales management, planning, organising, and analytical skills.
Practical experience/exposure and attendance of relevant courses.
Strong interpersonal, business development/communication skills.
