Serve as an essential member of the Northville Health Center Leadership Team, supervising the day to day operations within the NHC Ophthalmology suite. Selected individual will be responsible for coordinating Ophthy technician schedules, managing requests for time off, and ensuring adequate coverage within the Ophthalmology Clinic. Manage the scheduling of all ophthalmology surgeries and obtain and process prior authorizations for scheduled surgeries and procedures. Provide faculty administrative support, manage MiChart Admin Inbasket, train staff and promote practices for patient center excellence. Ensure that patients with urgent needs are scheduled appropriately, and monitor patient access, patient flow and patient wait times to optimize patient care experiences. Serve as a point of contact for complicated issues and patient concerns. Manage faculty schedules, including adjusting existing templates, adding new days and closing days. Monitor faculty time away calendars. Collaborate closely with faculty, allied health, and administrative staff.
Selected candidate will work as a functional supervisor, leading daily huddles, embracing and incorporating "Lean in daily work" concepts.
Individual must exhibit strong leadership skills, possess a professional and positive image when interacting with patients, faculty and staff.
Must also adhere to a high standard of personal and professional conduct; possess excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills; and demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse population and effectively manage and lead staff.
Must be able to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team, handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
In addition, candidate must demonstrate flexible and creative problem solving skills, proficient computer and keyboarding skills, and excellent attendance.
High school diploma or GED.
Previous supervisory experience.
BA or BS degree with experience in health care setting.
Certification through the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology at the Certified Ophthalmic Assistant level.
Monday- Friday with potential future expansion to include evenings.
