The Business and Technology Applications Technician is responsible for collecting, producing, and reporting institutional research and assessment data. The tasks include collection, analysis, and distribution of accurate and timely reports mandated by external agencies, internal assessment cycles, as well as reports useful for University decision-makers. This position will maintain the University’s assessment software and provide support to faculty and staff who engage the assessment and program review processes. The institution currently uses online platforms like Digital Measures, EvalKit, and Taskstream for assessment functions, and a technician is required to ensure that the platforms are used well to capture the required data to support accreditation, policy analysis, and program planning.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The Office of Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness (OSPIE) fosters student success and the University's effectiveness by facilitating evidence-based decision-making. OSPIE serves as the primary source of official data reported from all major administrative systems across the University, conducts objective research and analysis for decision-makers, prepares reports that improve understanding of institutional and program performance, builds data collections, facilitates access to institutional data, and advocates for data quality and integrity. OSPIE supports student learning assessment, the development and evaluation of academic programs and administrative functions, and institutional and program accreditation.

Associate’s Degree in Computer Programming; or Bachelor’s Degree with nine credit hours in programming; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Earned bachelor's in business technology, information technology, or related field.
Demonstrated skills in knowledge and skills related to cloud-based applications.
At least two years work experience with applications and clients.
Demonstrated communication, collaboration, and team engagement skills.
Ability to be productive and creative in a diverse team.
High level of skill in using software for analysis and presentation.
Three to four years experience in managing cloud-based applications for large user-group.
Experience working in a higher education setting.
Highly skilled in Excel, database applications, Microsoft Office, Camtasia, Screenflow, assessment-related applications such as Digital Measures, Taskstream, Qualtrics, and EvalKit.
