Milton Hershey School is seeking an Admissions School Psychologist for the School’s student Enrollment team. This position plays a key role in contributing to maintaining and growing the School’s student enrollment. Currently the School enrolls approximately 2,000 students and plans to expand to 2,300 in the next few years.
The Admissions School Psychologist is responsible for reviewing records and conducting psychological assessments of prospective students; and then developing reports and recommendations for the Enrollment committee regarding potential educational and enrollment needs of prospective students. The assessments include the learning, behavior, and emotional profiles of prospective students including cognitive ability, achievement, student and family interviews, observations, personality, and measurement of psycho-social make-up, including the ability to adjust to student life and group living.
This position is typically a Monday through Friday 7:30 to 4:00 role, but it entails a high volume of application reviews and student assessments. The Department receives over 4,000 applications annually. The Admissions School Psychologist completes approximately 275 psychological agency reviews per year and up to 150 assessments per year. There is a highly collaborative approach that is taken to application processing to ensure each one is reviewed appropriately to ensure the best possible selection process for each student.
-Master’s degree in School or Clinical Psychology. Additional training in psychological assessment beyond the Master’s degree is required. Doctoral degrees are preferred.
-PA School Psychologist Certification is required.
-At least 3 years of relevant experience in School and/or Clinical Psychology, preferably with a concentration in application of assessments.
-Proficiency with Microsoft applications and utilization of various software is required.
-Experience working with low-income and / or diverse populations preferred. Demonstrated skills in attention to detail, multi-tasking and effectively working in high volume settings.
-Demonstrated skills in successfully collaborating and working cross-functionally.
-Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are considered to be role models for MHS students.
