The HSPH-NIEHS Center for Nanosafety Research at Harvard School of Public Health seeks a highly motivated individual to join its interdisciplinary team that focuses on the development of novel nanotechnology applications and pioneering methods to investigate the toxicity of nanomaterials. The person filling this position will report directly to the Principal Investigator (PI)/Center Director. Together with the Principal Investigator and Center's Research Scientist, the Research Projects Coordinator will provide administrative support to research and other activities, the use of equipment and facilities, and the personnel in the associated laboratories. The Research Projects Coordinator will also provide overall coordination across project partners to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables, and will participate in external communication efforts to inform stakeholders about the laboratory research projects and results -- including presenting project results at conferences and meetings.
Duties include but are not limited to: - Outreach and communication activities such as maintenance of various websites, writing blog releases/articles for ongoing activities - Organization of the nanolecture series - Coordination of meetings for the various research projects of the Center - Under general direction from the PI, assists the PI and other lab members with developing and preparing grant proposals for federal and non-federal sponsors - Preparing progress reports, technical reports, budget/financial reports, scientific manuscripts, and other related reports. - Developing standard operating procedures for documentation and making informal presentations of these procedures to the lab members - Updating the PI and other stakeholders on progress and challenges through consistent communications and in-person meetings - Other duties as assigned
The Research Project Coordinator will manage large amounts of detailed work and complex documentation. He/she will be in charge of managing and maintaining laboratory instrumentation, keeping detailed laboratory notebooks, enforcing lab safety, ordering supplies for the lab, and undertaking other clerical and simple accounting duties under the direction of administrative personnel and the Center Director.
Please Note: This position has a term appointment of 1 year from date of hire, with the possibility of extension.

- 3+ years of related experience, a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Bachelor's level degree is strongly preferred. - Events management experience is strongly preferred. - Experience working within a lab/safety environment is strongly preferred. - Experience with Sharepoint, Project Management Software and/or Wunberlist is a strong plus. - Excellent computer skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
