PART TIME; TEMPORARY Starting Salary Range: $4,258.33-$7,433.33/monthly. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Scout and the Scout Teacher Supervisor, incumbent will develop high-quality curriculum and certify that materials adhere to state and Common Core Standards. They will also serve as a high-quality online teacher, working with students from across California and beyond.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced educator to resolve a wide range of K to 12 educational issues and needs assessments. Performs decision analysis and makes decisions of consequence to determine how best to provide individualized instruction to children with a wide range of learning needs. Demonstrates good judgment in application and interpretation of data, facts, procedures and policies. Receives general instructions and exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for classroom and instructional improvement. Uses full knowledge of course subject matter and program. Meets frequently with staff and students. Demonstrates shared leadership with experienced teachers in achieving school's goals.
The incumbent must have an educational background in Economics and hold California single-subject credential that allows them to teach AP Macroeconomics and College Prep Economics. Experience with the AP Economics courses as a teacher and an advanced degree in Economics is desirable.
Primary work location is 3175 Bowers Avenue, Santa Clara, CA 95054, and this position is approved for a telecommuting agreement. Candidates must be able to travel to the primary work location as needed.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Current Clear cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development (CLAD) certification via California Teacher of English Learners (CTEL) or equivalent Certification.
Valid California Credential or license authorizing service in grade levels and areas assigned.

Bachelor's degree in related area.
Student teaching internship or full-time teaching experience in kindergarten through 12.

Thorough knowledge of principles, theories, methods, techniques and strategies pertaining to teaching and instruction.
Strong knowledge of online teaching and learning strategies, pedagogy, and best practice.
