The Physical and Biological Sciences (PB Sci) Division provides general science and math education for all UCSC undergraduates, educates undergraduate science and engineering majors, and maintains research and graduate programs of national and international stature. The division is comprised of departments and programs of study, organized research units, instructional and research programs to attract and retain a diverse population of students, and a variety of support programs and facilities. The PB Sci Division is home to a wide variety of interdisciplinary collaborations, special programs and unique areas of study.
Under the general direction of the Assistant Dean for Planning and Academic Programs, the Divisional Research Analyst aggregates, analyzes, and interprets student, instructional, budget, personnel and research data in support of various initiatives and projects in the Physical and Biological Division (PB Sci). Incumbent will conduct research and provide analysis in a variety of areas including but not limited to enrollment planning, curricular capacity, student success, instructional workload, program evaluation, space management, resource allocation and academic and staff personnel.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience / training.
Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports and memoranda, and to make public presentations to large groups and explain complex issues.
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Analytical / problem-solving skills sufficient to analyze and interpret written materials and quantitative data, and to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
