Berkeley College is searching for a Systems Engineer to join the Infrastructure Team and provide implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of servers, systems, storage, and virtualization. The candidate will be responsible for Infrastructure projects based on business productivity and security using Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Dell, SAN, and Cloud-Based Technologies while managing scheduling, updates, and documentation. The position handles long and short-term system operations projects while troubleshooting day-to-day issues and completing both in a timely and professional manner.
Provide System Operations support to all Berkeley College Students, Faculty, and Staff through a ticketing system, including providing Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues Implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Infrastructure standards such as Windows OS, VMware, Infrastructure systems and various SAN technologies. Perform systems maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations on hardware and virtualized infrastructure. Engineer and Administer multi-site system operations sites including co-locations and private cloud integration. Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning Working effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines, and adjusting to changing priorities. Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure Interface with Infrastructure vendors when requested and assist with coordinating efforts to complete projects including acquisition of technologies to improve and maintain the infrastructure. Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security policies. Secures systems by enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access. Accomplishes organizational mission by completing related results as needed. Reporting systems operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects. Participate in on-call rotation. After Hours work required when necessary.

Professional level troubleshooting skills and ownership of any task. Advanced Knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems up to Server 2016, Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, LDAP, and ADFS including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Self-motivated to increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. 5+ years of experience in a mid-sized enterprise environment working with Servers, Virtualization, Backup, Snapshots, clustering, load balancing, Dns, Dhcp, and OS deployment.
5+ years of VMware Experience (vCenter, vSphere) and ESXi (5.5 – 6.5) engineering-level build and configuration experience. 5+ years Configuring, troubleshooting and managing SAN storage technologies including iSCSI connection, creating LUNs and replication of storage. Experience with Office365 at an engineering level. Thorough understanding of LAN/WAN design, configuration, and administration. Ability to create/modify architectural and technical documents Experience with Splunk, CheckMK, Dell OME, vRealize SRM, vOPS and SIEM solutions a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Operations Framework a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
BS degree with minimum 5 years of experience working directly with complex network infrastructure environments. Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) and VMware Certified Professional (VCP) a plus.
