Windows Application Administrator, Computing Services-2004902
Carnegie Mellon, one of the world leaders in higher education and research, is searching for a Windows Application Administrator to join the Windows Application team within the university's Computing Services division. This position will report to the Senior Manager and is responsible for supporting, developing, maintaining, upgrading and troubleshooting various applications residing on the Windows platform. You will support the Windows Applications Team by working on configuration, development, testing and support of various applications that run on Microsoft Windows platforms. You will learn and then manage critical third-party applications, including CBORD's CS Gold access management system and related application/credit card payment devices.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
At least 3 years of industry experience as a professional application or systems administrator building, configuring and maintaining multi-tier, scalable, enterprise level products in a Microsoft Windows environment
Experience writing SQL queries and understanding relational database architectures and tools
Detailed understanding of the Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and the development environments, including Microsoft Active Directory and Visual Studio
Ability to program with a high-level or scripting language
Able to handle a complex workload with shifting priorities
Ability to develop and implement custom programs/workflow for improving the functionality of applications
Good customer service and time management skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead a small team environment with well developed interpersonal skills
Work on other projects and tasks as deemed necessary by the team and business
Experience in programming, ideally using C# / .NET and Crystal Reports preferred
Communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences (technical and non-technical) and senior managers preferred
