The goal of this position is to contribute to creating learning opportunities consistent with the University's strategic plan for online education and a digital-first culture. The position will primarily work with subject matter experts to create and maintain high-quality accessible online courses and programs using interactive authoring tools and specified learning management systems, all while utilizing a standard learning theory and project management principles to co-facilitate collaborative course design and development processes with support and significant supervision from senior instructional designers. In addition, this role requires participation in the development, implementation, and facilitation of workshops; sharing of work-related solutions, processes, and outcomes publicly through social media platforms interest groups, and local, regional, and national committees and conferences; researching technologies and pedagogical approaches that support technology-enhanced learning; and engagement in professional development opportunities in learning theory, and eLearning development to bolster instructional design and eLearning artifact development. This role will also engage with and support faculty and Office of Distance Education and eLearning (ODEE) colleagues creating technology-supported courses through other ODEE initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated worker who works effectively independently and as part of a team, leads and manages projects, is able to convey complex technical information through summarizing and simplification techniques in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience, and gathers consensus.

Bachelor’s degree; 0-3 years of experience in a higher-education institution in a role related to instructional design, curriculum development, or faculty engagement; familiarity with learning theory and the backward design process: ability to describe basics and formulate appropriate questions; experience designing, developing, and evaluating media objects using a variety of multimedia software and tools (e.g., e-learning technologies such as Articulate or SoftChalk; photo, audio, and video editing; e-books basic web design); ability to work across various content areas, technologies, software, and tools; experience with customer service skills in a higher education setting.
Familiarity with Quality Matters; experience with planning and executing projects and multiple priorities; familiarity with copyright considerations and accessibility considerations; familiarity with basic project management principles; familiarity with accessibility in online courses.
Target Salary: $17.47 - $21.35 Hourly
