Governance Assistant provides administrative support for the Associate Registrar for Scheduling and Governance, and the Governance Coordinator. This position serves as administrative support for the Commission on Undergraduate Studies and Policies and the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee. Responsibilities include maintaining all documentation, records, and meeting minutes associated with governance, tracking graduate and undergraduate course and program reviews, and processing approved course and curriculum program information.
- Administrate support experience in a professional or academic office setting. - Strong computer skills in areas such as data entry, word processing, spreadsheets and database applications. - Proficiency with current software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. - Must be able to prioritize and process large volumes of work while maintaining attention-to-detail. - Must have excellent organization skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision and adhere to strict process schedules. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interact respectfully and comfortably with all individuals in a diverse, multicultural environment.
- Experience working in a related academic environment. - Experience recording and preparing meeting minutes. - Experience working with academic course and/or program information. - Experience performing data entry and retrieval using a large-scale relational database, such as Banner. - Experience interpreting and explaining policies and procedures.
