The Advancement division at Dartmouth College seeks a dynamic event professional to serve as Assistant Director, Alumni Lifelong Learning. A member of the Alumni Relations team, our Assistant Director will support priorities of the Advancement division and the institution in its effort to enhance individual relationships with our diverse alumni population, including contributing to the strategic and creative development of educational events and travel programs designed to engage and cultivate alumni involvement and participation.
In collaboration with the Director, Advancement colleagues, and others across the institution, our Assistant Director will creatively plan, manage, and promote programs that align with our marketing initiatives and branding strategy. Our hire will work closely with tour operators to share passenger needs and post-travel feedback to ensure a positive travel experience for our alumni and friends of Dartmouth. Collaborations with faculty ensure effective program planning, travel preparation, and sharing of post-travel debrief experiences.
Our successful hire will hold a Bachelor's degree and have at least four years of experience in event or program management experience, as well as experience in marketing. Experience working in the field of tourism is a plus. Keys to your success will be your demonstrated skills in areas such as written and verbal communication, customer service, event and project management, and organization. A high level of attention to detail, initiative, and organization is crucial in effectively organizing travel and in the development and implementation of marketing plans. Your commitment to serving the needs of a diverse alumni network and the ability to be collaborative and flexible in a fast paced and ever-changing environment is critical. The ability to think creatively and be an active contributor in brainstorming new ideas for educational travel and events is ideal for our collaborative team environment. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products and experience working with relational databases is required. Our hire will be comfortable with data and have the ability to learn complex systems as our work includes gathering data useful in analyzing effectiveness of programs through event sales and participation, as well as post event surveys.
This position is full-time and is based in Hanover, NH. Our hire will be eligible for our benefits package, a competitive benefits program. The ability to travel is required, as is your comfort working a variety of nights and weekends to provide event support.
