Opportunity for a laboratory scientist to join a dynamic public health association, the Association of Public Health Laboratories, as Senior Specialist, Respiratory Diseases (2 openings). Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in life science/laboratory field and relevant work experience. Master’s degree in public health or life science, and experience in a health department, federal agency, membership organization or laboratory field experience preferred. Job duties include leading and supporting a variety of domestic and global health activities. Work will be focused primarily around respiratory pathogen testing, training and preparedness, but may involve additional infectious disease activities. Pathogens of interest within this program range from influenza to vaccine preventable diseases to novel respiratory pathogens. Seeking someone who is organized, detail-oriented, has the ability to establish working relationships with diverse groups and is capable of handling multiple complex tasks concurrently.
