The Advancement Division at Babson College is in the process of starting a comprehensive capital campaign and it's a great time to join our team of over sixty staff members.
As a representative of the College and the Advancement Office, the Associate Director, Class Affinity will be responsible for creating and implementing a strategy that will build a core group of Fund for Babson volunteers through intensive class management and affinity fundraising. The Associate Director is specifically responsible for volunteer recruitment and participation strategies which contributes to the overall Fund for Babson goal of increasing participation.
• Develop and implement an effective class volunteer structure. • Devise an annual business plan, which includes a return on investment analysis, focused on performance goals and standards of excellence to ensure optimal results of programs and activities. • Provide progress assessments and year-end reports to the Managing Director. • Set, in partnership with the Managing Director of The Fund for Babson, specific class and affinity participation and dollar goals where appropriate. • Collaborate closely with Alumni and Friends Network, Marketing, Leadership and Major Giving, and Development Operations to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy, and quality of programs. • In an effort to deeply personalize and segment communications, manage the marketing strategies for key constituencies through class or affinity-based outreach. • Work with Development Research and fundraisers to target appropriate volunteers for various programs. • Ensure volunteers are stewarded, cultivated, and encouraged to complete their fundraising and volunteer responsibilities. • Oversee, in partnership with AFN and EMO, the fundraising goals for undergraduate reunion classes. • Hold a portfolio of volunteers and annual fund prospects and fundraise through 12 face-to-face meetings plus phone calls monthly. • Manage the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and prospective donors at the participation to $1,919 and above. • Prepare proposals for gift solicitations. • Assume additional responsibilities as required.
Education Requirements: Minimum Level of Education Required Bachelor's Degree Position Knowledge/Skills & Abilities Requirements: • A minimum of 6-8 years of previous experience • Must have exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills, and the ability to be effective at engaging with all levels of the College • Demonstrated ability to establish creditability and confidence with donors and prospective donors • Ability to work with ethnically, culturally and socially diverse students, staff, faculty and other constituencies • Must have exceptional organizational, verbal and written communication skills • Must have the flexibility and willingness to assume new tasks and special projects • Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support Entrepreneurial Thought & Action; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results • Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions • Must have strong technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Working Conditions: • Flexibility and willingness to travel as a representative to Babson • May require occasional nights and/or weekend work • Must have had a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver's License for one year, and maintain throughout employment an insurable (as determined by the College's insurer's criteria) or a satisfactory driving record; must successfully complete and pass the College's vehicle training program within the first 60 days of employment; annual or more frequent review of employee's driving record based on the College insurer's criteria; and safety training as required by management.
