The Brown University Division of Advancement seeks qualified applicants for the position of Development Associate and Events Coordinator, Brown University Sports Foundation.
This positionâ™s primary responsibilities are to provide an advanced level of direct administrative support to the Director and two Associate Directors, as well as other members of the BUSF team. This position directly coordinates all Alumni Day activities for the BUSF. Finally, this position serves as a financial coordinator and is a liaison to the Gift Accounting department.
He/she will work in close coordination with the Associate Director, Alumni and the 38 varsity coaches to plan and execute alumni days; He/she will provide overall customer service through an alumni relations capacity; The incumbent will serve as the department assistant and front line customer service agent. He/she will monitor the general phone lines and email accounts for the BUSF and the incumbent will be relied upon to respond timelyâ”providing a resolution for all inquiries and questions. He/she will process invoices and work with gift accounting as needed.
He/ She will work collaboratively with all alumni and friendsâ™ volunteers as well as others across the Division of Advancement. This position supports the overall work of the BUSF which raises $20M(+) in new gifts and pledges each fiscal year. In support of the entire team, he/she will provide event support, as needed.
Bachelorâ™s degree and two years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and time-management skills
Strong project/time management skills preferred.
Must be detail-oriented and have an ability to handle and complete multiple projects concurrently
Demonstrated ability with computer software programs including but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, use of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and Gmail required. Knowledge of Blackbaud CRM highly preferred.
Must have a degree of computer proficiency and information management skills to carry out the major responsibilities of this position.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Frequent work during evenings and on weekends as needed for events and to accommodate volunteers.
Occasional travel as needed for events.
