Under administrative direction, develop and implement pro-active, organizational, community and public relations strategies to ensure development and integration to advance SSM Hospice through the levels of We Honor Veteran Program (WHV), a campaign conducted by National Hospice Organization in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Administration (VA).
Understands and exemplifies the philosophy and values of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary and the SSM Health Care System. Performs all duties according to entity policies and procedures.
Provides a personal example of living the principles of continuous quality improvement whereby decision making is driven by data, and customer-supplier relationships are facilitated within the System and a commitment to the end of life care of Veterans.
Establishes We Honor Veterans project plans by determining objectives, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding and staffing; develops and drives implementation plans including pilots as appropriate and evaluation of pilot results.
Enables project execution and delivery by building professional and organization capacity to provide quality care for Veterans.
Develops and/or strengthen partnerships with VA and other Veteran organizations, and reaches out to other Veteran and Hospice programs to develop strategies to make SSM Hospice a premier provider of Hospice care to Veterans.
Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and /or trends in effort to assure increased access to hospice and palliative care for Veterans living in the community.
Working in cooperation with the SSM Hospice Branches and WHV local champions to ensure incorporations of the Veterans' program into all aspects of Hospice care.
Resolves problems that may arise and ensures effective communication is provided and maintained within the SSM organization, VA system and the community. Builds effective relationships with business units to develop a "joint" vision.
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different request and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Recruit Veterans and assist volunteer coordinators in the development of a Veteran to Veteran Program.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Admin, Marketing/Public Relations required
Valid Driver's License required
1-3 years of experience in health care promotions and/or Veterans Affairs \
Knowledgeable in computer word processing and email.
Excellent communications skills
Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driver's record deemed acceptable by SSM
Must maintain and be able to produce proof of current auto insurance with at least state required minimum coverage.
Must have demonstrated ability to operate a vehicle in a safe and lawful manner
Some travel required. This position requires travel to patient homes and meeting locations, the ability to operate a vehicle in a safe and lawful manner is an essential function of the job. Additionally, access to a vehicle in good working condition required.
