The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in C.A.T.S. Life Skills operations and programming. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Athletics, Life Skills. This person will help in the areas of leadership and personal development, health and wellness, prevention programming, money management, career development, orientations, summer workshops, service initiatives and other duties as assigned. Assist with C.A.T.S. Life Skills programming and outreach Organize and lead or assist with workshops in various Life Skills areas including: Leadership groups Health and Wellness, Money Management, Career Development, Transitions, Identity, etc. Co-lead The Wildcat Way Bear Down For Life Series (various Life Skills topics) Assist with new student-athlete orientations and Step UP! Bystander Intervention trainings Assist and support other C.A.T.S. Program areas (Academics, Sports Medicine, Clinical/Sports Psychology, Strength and Conditioning), and Sports Nutrition. Oversee minority student programming Develop and organize Broadening Horizons outings for unique experiences Serve on campus committees where needed Maintain and oversee social media sites (Twitter) and digital signage Responsible for coordinating midyear and end of career (exit) interviews Meet with prospective student-athletes and families Assist in the planning, development and implementation of diversity and gender equity initiatives as requested or needed by Sr. Associate Director of Athletics or Diversity committee chair Present at regional or national Conferences Assist with securing additional funding Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Demonstrated experience working with student-athletes
Proven experience designing, presenting and facilitating workshops
Extensive experience working with a diverse population
Excellent administrative, oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with athletic department and campus personnel
Proven creative, organizational and analytical skills; exceptional attention to detail
Ability to multitask and work traditional and non-traditional hours
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT)
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as on a team
Knowledge of institutional, conference and NCAA rules especially those relevant to Life Skills/Student Development programming
