The College of Education has an outstanding opportunity for a Multimedia Content Specialist.
Reporting to the Director for Marketing and Communications, the Multimedia Content Specialist is charged with sharing the UW College of Education story in a fresh, innovative and compelling manner. This position will be responsible for producing videos, graphic art, design, infographics, and written stories/copy for the College's marketing and communications efforts. As a key member of the College's advancement team, the specialist will support and strengthen its fundraising, recruitment and brand building initiatives. This position will be responsible for taking projects from conception through to completion, working with colleagues across the College and UW throughout the process. In addition, the specialist will serve as both a creative voice and caretaker to ensure consistency throughout the College's digital and print design portfolio.
Work across departments to conceptualize and develop multimedia content and illustrative materials that tell the College's story and strengthen its brand.
Produce, manipulate and integrate video, graphic images, animations, sound and text into multimedia storytelling efforts.
Produce and edit videos for publication on the College website, social media and e-communication platforms.
Write stories/copy for the College's website, newsletter, print publications, social media, e-communications and other channels.
Conduct website content maintenance on the College website using CMS (Drupal), including assisting with definition of web content needs.
Create digital campaign graphics for the website, social media and e-marketing platforms, when needed.
Track social media analytics, engagement, trends, and audience retention.
Design and coordinate the printing of (when applicable) annual reports, case studies, calendars, promotional materials (flyers, fact sheets, brochures, posters, invitations, advertisements and banners), direct mail pieces, stationery, holiday cards and other materials as needed.
Maintain consistent use of College and UW branding and establish a consistent look for UW College of Education identity recognition across the College's internal and external communications.
Develop and maintain a robust photo database, and manage photo permissions and distribution.
Ability to participate in evening and weekend events as necessary.
Complete other job-related duties as assigned.
A Bachelor of Arts or Science in multimedia, journalism, communications, graphic design, marketing or related field, and two to three years of work experience producing multimedia content.
Demonstrated ability to tell compelling stories through video.
An excellent eye for design.
Proficiency with a variety of video production and design applications, including but not limited to: Adobe Premiere, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, and FinalCut Pro.
Proficiency with graphic design concepts, practices and procedures, both print- and Web-based.
A wide degree of creativity and flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
A commitment to staying up to date on multimedia technologies that will add production value.
Proficiency with Associated Press (AP) writing style to be used consistently in all web/marketing copy.
Ability to research, develop, write and edit effective stories/copy with a focus on the intended audience.
Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team atmosphere.
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and adhere to specific deadline and goals.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Experience producing multimedia content in K-12 or higher education setting.
