The Physician will have knowledge in Hospitalist Medicine and will have a minimum of two years of experience in the active care of inpatients. The Physician Assistant will work in the Hospital setting providing services primarily to the Monarch HealthCare patient population in collaboration with MHA Physicians. The current schedule is Monday through Friday, 8a to 5p, with some weekend, holiday and on-call duties as assigned. Primary Responsibilities: Physician Assistant will serve as a member of the MHA care team. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for daily clinical duties necessary to provide appropriate care to patients in the Hospital. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Perform evaluation and management services to patients requiring hospitalist services with the hospitalist practice including gathering of patient history, performing physical examination, assessment of patient, formalizing treatment plans and recommending pertinent diagnostic studies Demonstrate excellent communication with patients and families and offer support and education Communicate the plan of care effectively to patients, their families, nurses, care team and the PCP and/or referral physicians for admission, critical events and discharge Documentation to reflect the clinical picture to proactively avoid denials and to assure proper coding and reimbursement Timely completion of admission H&Ps, progress notes and discharge summaries. Write and sign discharge orders along with prescriptions Work with facilities to create streamlined, efficient patient care processes with excellent patient outcomes. Evaluate length of stay to be within the regulations Perform such other responsibilities as reasonably assigned by the Inpatient Medical Director, AMD and or Physician within the PA scope of practice Physician may be exposed to communicable diseases
