Umoja Student Development Corporation seeks a dynamic Strategic Partnership Manager for a full-time position. This individual is a relationship builder, entrepreneur, and business development professional who builds new and cultivates existing Umoja professional development partnerships. The position requires exceptional relationship building skills, experience in marketing and business development and strong organizational skills. The primary responsibilities of the Partnership Manager are to market and describe Umoja’s services and products to potential partners in schools, districts, networks, and community based organizations; expand relationships with existing partners; develop and negotiate customized proposals and scopes of work; and manage all details of contracts and invoices with Professional Development partners. This position will work closely with the Curriculum and Instruction Team to determine the Professional Development modules and packages Umoja offers to potential partners and will also be responsible for developing systems and structures for recruiting and cultivating Professional Development partners. Together with colleagues, the Manager will ensure that partners receive appropriate services to build their organizational capacity for implementing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), Restorative Practice, and College and Career Readiness initiatives. This position reports directly to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create and implement a plan to actively and continuously generate new clients and professional development partners, designing tools and systems for the intake of new partners (i.e.a needs assessment)
Schedule, prepare all materials for, attend and co-facilitate pitch meetings with potential and existing partners
Refine system for estimating and tracking time put into each Professional Development partnership ensuring that Umoja is only taking on the number of partnerships it has the capacity to implement
Generate and negotiate scope of work (SOWS) for all professional development partnerships and ensure all SOWS are in legal compliance and signed in a timely manner
Invoice partners for services rendered; track all partner payments; and follow up with partners as needed regarding outstanding invoices
Manage the Curriculum and Instruction team’s training calendar, including scheduling all professional developments; assigning facilitators for the professional developments and ensuring facilitators know where to be and receive adequate information about the partner
Support consultants and Umoja leadership in developing a strategic marketing plan to assemble a well-rounded portfolio of partners that meets the annual targeted revenue goal for Umoja’s Curriculum and Instruction Team
In conjunction with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Director of Development and Communications, design and develop marketing and pitch materials for Umoja’s Curriculum and Instruction team including the writing and publishing of a monthly e-newsletter
Monitor and update content on Umoja's website

Desired Skills & Requirements
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders including school and district administrators
Experience writing educational and marketing materials using the full range of multimedia delivery tools and techniques (proficiency in all Microsoft Office and Google Office applications)
Familiarity with Quickbooks preferred
Ability to communicate in an effective and compelling manner both orally and in writing
Top-notch organization and follow-through skills
Independent thinker and problem-solver, with strong ability to manage projects and time
This position requires a valid driver’s license, reliable automobile, insurance and good driving record. This is a full-time position with benefits.
