Coordination and implement of on-site YJC job readiness/placements programs and services at an area high school. Primary responsibilities are building strong relationships and communities with students, faculty and staff, recruitment and retention of participants, facilitation of job readiness training and other workshops as determined by population served and agency need, employment counseling, placement and supplemental support, development of post-secondary goals and plans, and general case management.
Work with students, faculty, and staff to fully integrate YJC’s presence/values, programs, and services into the overall school and/or community culture.
Coordinate and facilitate Job Readiness Trainings (JRT) and other relevant workshops.
Work both one on one and in groups with participants to provide career advising and mentoring, case management, job placement and support;
Provide career advising, case management and internship and job placement support to participating high school students using career assessment tools and current labor market information
Work with youth to develop post-secondary goals and plans, that are related to their skills, interests, abilities AND are aligned with current labor market information.
Recruit and retain participant engagement in YJC’s programs and services through on and off-site recruitment/outreach activities.
Ability to cultivate and manage employer relationships, particularly those in the primary area of service
Enter data into YJC Client Management System correctly and in a timely fashion database
Postsecondary degree or credential preferred
At least 2 years’ experience working in youth development
Understanding of employment training or workforce development based program preferred
Project, program management experience highly desirable

Experience working with youth 14-19
Creative, problem solver
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to balance support and accountability for participants in program
Strong time management skills, deadline and outcomes driven
Proficiency with computer technology, including database management
Flexibility with evening and weekend hours required at times
Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish)
Valid Illinois drivers’ license and access to a vehicle for required work transportation preferred
