This entry level part-time position supports public health activities at the Center for a Healthy Maryland, an affiliate of MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society. Position provides support for the Maryland Maternal Mortality Review program (MMR) and the Physician Leadership program, both grant funded activities. The goal of MMR is to review the records of maternal deaths to determine trends and assist in recommendations for preventive actions. The Physician Leadership project administers a training program for physicians. Position duties include research into grant opportunities and assistance in proposal writing. Additional project related administrative duties are expected, as assigned. This position provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth for the qualified candidate.

MMR Responsibilities: Medical Examiner Office data collection and abstraction Request and organize medical records Other duties as assigned
Physician Leadership Program Responsibilities: Promotional outreach for training sessions Meeting logistics and facilitation Assist with program evaluation and reports Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Desired: College degree, preferably in health education or community health; Masters candidates encouraged Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage project deadlines, timelines, and deliverables Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher Creative, enthusiastic self-starter Ability to communicate effectively with medical professionals Ability to work in the evening to staff meetings

MedChi has about 50 employees. Office hours are M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour paid lunch.
