Recruits prospective students and provides general advising on future academic and career goals. Assist students in identifying and understanding issues and procedures related to successful application and enrollment at Tarrant County College.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as a college representative to assist new students with the admissions process including application submission, placement testing, advising and financial aid through the College Access program
Contacts and meets high school counselors and teachers to explain benefits of the College Access program; coordinate with counselors to schedule presentations and workshops
Nurtures relationships with school personnel
Builds and maintains relationships with prospective students through case management
Provides information and assistance to high school officials, parents, and students about the admissions process
Develops new relationships with new schools
Recruit new students in accordance with the mission, goals, and policies of the College
Refers students to college resources that are available to assist them in the selection of career paths, scholarships, financial aid, and other related services
Tracks data for all activities performed and submits monthly reports
Communicates effectively and works with diverse population; fosters excellent relationships with the public, students, faculty, and staff
Conducts presentations and disseminates program information and materials to varied groups including potential students, parents, and other stakeholders
Conducts presentations for parents/family on topics associated with college enrollment through group presentations
Assists in the creation of promotional tools and resources including print materials and giveaway items
Performs clerical tasks related to job responsibilities and departmental project
Demonstrates good Computer knowledge with Microsoft Office suite
Ability to work evenings and weekends in addition to regular work schedule
Travel between schools is required
Uses interpersonal skills, thinks, reasons, and makes sound judgments to decide how duties and responsibilities are completed
Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
