You'll work within an incredible team culture; a clinical and business collaboration that is learning and evolving every day. *** Work Schedule: Must be flexible in working an 8 hour shift between the hours of 4:30 am – 11:30 pm Monday through Friday *** Primary Responsibilities: Verifies prescriptions Takes new prescriptions and evaluates patient histories Interprets physicians' prescriptions and creates orders, accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from the computer system and verifies whether the order is reimbursable Consults with customers, patients and / or physicians regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions Conducts Quality Assurance and verifies the accuracy of all prescriptions Handles drug utilization review calls Reviews and approves / denies requests for prescription prior authorizations Analyzes and investigates concerns Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise Fulfillment:Inspect Verify prescriptions and prescription data entered into the pharmacy computer system for accuracy Utilize clinical skills to perform Drug Utilization Reviews Work in the fulfillment area to provide the final quality check prior to medication being packed and shipped Lift totes 5 -10 lbs Basic understanding of robotic automation
Required Qualifications:Pharmacist license in good standing in California BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree Experience as a Pharmacist in retail pharmacy, a hospital, or managed care setting Ability to navigate MS Office and a Windows based environment and the ability to create, edit, save, and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word. Ability to navigate Outlook and conduct Internet searches Must be able to work the designated shift and flexible hoursPreferred Qualifications:3+ years experience as a Pharmacist in a retail pharmacy, a hospital, or managed care settingCareers with OptumRx.
