Primary Responsibilities: Greet patients and check patients in and out Ensure demographics including insurance information is correct in IDX and update as necessary Manage the patients expectations about the visit and ensure that the visit and referral process are understood Schedule appointments as necessary Work with back office to get patients seen who walk in or call for appointment Enter charges correctly and collect appropriate payments Answer telephones and take messages or route incoming calls as per policy Document all calls and messages appropriately according to policy Ensure that refills and provider requests are taken care of Responsible for waiting room management and implementation of efficient customer friendly processes Work with front and back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow Communicate with clinical personnel about service issues and complaints Assist co - workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas
Required Qualifications:High school diploma or GED 6 + months of experience in a healthcare or clinical customer service setting including charge entry experience CPR certified or able to attain certification within 30 days of employment Access to reliable transportation that will enable you to travel to client or patient sites within a designated area Preferred Qualifications: 1+ year of experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Practice Management Software systems Experience with NextGen EMR systems Familiar with medical terminology Bilingual in Spanish Careers with Optum.
