The Department of Biochemistry seeks to recruit one postdoctoral fellow to work in the Christopher Bond Life Sciences Center. The position is for one year and is renewable up to 3 years. Postdoctoral fellow positions are 100% research and offers a competitive salary plus benefits. Review of applications will begin December 1, 2016 and will remain open until filled.
The major focus of research is studying the molecular mechanisms of autoimmune disease in vitro and in vivo, in particular the regulation of receptor-mediated inflammatory signaling pathways. Candidates are expected to work in a team-oriented environment and possess excellent oral and written skills. Candidates will also be expected to assist in preparing manuscripts and grant applications.
The basic qualification for this position is the completion of Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a field of science relevant to the research conducted. Preference will be given to candidates in the broadly defined fields of immunology, biochemistry and molecular biology. Additional qualifications include demonstrated experience in utilization of mouse models, including the breeding and maintenance of mice engineered with cre–recombinase technology, molecular biology techniques e.g., Western blot, real-time PCR, immunohistochemistry, primary and cell line cultures and a demonstrated ability to publish in English-language peer-reviewed journals.
