The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for an Radiologic Technologist.Responsible for performing routine and complex procedures in Diagnostic Imaging to produce high quality images of anatomical structures for interpretation by the radiologist. Adheres to and enforces mandatory radiation safety measures in all areas. Participates in equipment maintenance program. Reviews and evaluates radiographic, CT and MRI images to determine if satisfactory for diagnostic purposes. Performs nuclear medicine exams with supervision of a radiologist. Instructs senior veterinary student in radiation safety, correct imaging positioning and technique. Performs related clerical duties. Required to work variable schedule and take after hours call
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or Registered Radiology Technologist (ARRT); Previous animal handling experience; Previous experience and working knowledge of biomedical imaging equipment; Excellent communication necessary to interact effectively with co-workers, students, faculty and patients; Ability to readily learn new procedures, must be adaptable and flexible; Rabies prophylaxis will be required (provided by employer).
Experience handling large animals, primarily horses preferred; Previous experience and working knowledge of CT, MRI or Nuclear Imaging.
