This Financial Coordinator position is responsible for:
Coordinating and clarifying patient-specific financial aspects of care for transplant patients and their families.
Working with the transplant team, patients and their families beginning with the evaluation for transplantation and continuing through and after transplantation, in a compassionate and tactful manner in order to help facilitate access to and provide continuity of care.
Advising patients of procedure costs and alternate sources of funding.
Working with health insurance providers to determine coverage and benefit limits.
To qualify you must have:
The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of an Associate's degree in accounting, business or healthcare related field and three to four years of experience in patient financial services. Bachelor's degree and experience in transplant administration preferred.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills to assist in the resolution of concerns.
The ability to interact professionally with patients and/or patient representatives.
Strong proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office and financial systems.
Excellent collaborative skills in order to develop appropriate relationships with colleagues, patients and their families, as well as payers.
Extensive knowledge of government and third party payer requirements and claims possessing practices and requirements and through understanding and knowledge of patient access, needs, and process.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong oral and written abilities.
