The Assistant Director for Security and Law Enforcement Technology is responsible for the day-to-day management of all departmental technology systems and hardware which includes access control systems, security cameras & video management systems, alarm systems and other technology-related to law enforcement. This position reports to the Director of Security and Law Enforcement Technology. Job Functions:-Maintains daily operational performance management of security system and law enforcement technology.-Oversees the development, implementation, management, and support of department applications, network/communications systems, database management systems and related software.-Ensures quality assurance and customer satisfaction (internal & external) and provides best in class security, IT, and systems support in accordance with the operational mission of the Department.-Ensure clients' and end users' are provided professional, courteous and timely support and service.-Develop a strong working knowledge of clients' and users' areas of responsibility.-Evaluates and analyzes the performance and operation of University of Chicago security systems and technology to ensure high levels of service is provided and all appropriate standards are being met.-Prepares and presents regular status updates related to key projects, initiatives, and staff assignments.-Identify and resolve problems critical to the operation of the department. Meet with other administrators and professional staff to discuss problems, causes, and strategies.-Directly manages and supervises a team of Security Systems Coordinators; assigning work activities; projects and programs to appropriate staff members; reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of current work projects and methods.-Complete performance evaluations for direct reports.-Assesses training needs and requirements as related to security and law enforcement systems with the Department.-Prepares and presents in-service training programs for end users of security system technologies. -Develops training plans for new staff within Security Systems.-Works with system vendors' technical support to troubleshoot and resolve problems or address system improvements in support of the systems in use by the Department.-Provides 24/7 technical support for security and law enforcement systems-Manages security systems projects at the University of Chicago-Other duties as assigned
