The Registered Nurse II acts as charge nurse both in-house and on mobiles, schedules daily staffing assignments, directs and coaches staff as needed, assures staff is following policies and procedures accordingly and conducting themselves in a manner that represents Cedars-Sinai, initiates and investigates variances, participate in special projects as required. In addition, Registered Nurse ll must be able to perform donor phlebotomy (whole blood and apheresis), donor health history and physical assessment, address donor reactions and complaints, and demonstrate great customer service skills and knowledge of regulatory requirements. This position requires traveling to mobile blood drives in the greater Los Angeles area. Note: All External Hires must successfully pass a background check, a prohibited substance screening, and a pre-employment physical.
Qualification Requirements/Preferences: Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements: BSN preferred License/Certification/Registration Requirements: California RN license, American Heart Association BCLS required. Experience: Previous experience in a blood donor facility. Leadership experience preferred. Excellent command of the English language and excellent customer service skills required. Must be knowledgeable of cGMP's required by the FDA in blood collection facilities. Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking)
Constant walking and standing. Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs. and to access donor collection and therapeutic apheresis equipment.
