Bullis School, a coeducational college preparatory day school for grades K through 12 in Potomac, Maryland, seeks an experienced Director of Annual Giving who will contribute expertise and innovation to our advancement team.
The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for managing all aspects of the Bullis Fund and its current goal of $1.1 million. Primary leadership responsibilities include managing and implementing strategies to increase giving and deepen the philanthropic culture in the Bullis community. This position works with the Board of Trustees, staff, parents, alumni and friends of Bullis toward the growth and benefit of the Bullis Fund and any capital campaign efforts.
Specific duties include:
Managing the calendar of solicitations
Implementing a progress reporting system
Developing compelling appeals in print materials
Personally soliciting prospective Fund donors
Managing leadership groups and a cadre of volunteers
Recognizing donor contributions through various means
Assisting with all aspects of capital campaigns including maintaining a Moves Management program
This position also supports events, alumni fundraising, and other Advancement projects.
Qualified candidates will possess, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience in fundraising, preferably in an educational setting. Capital campaign experience is an important plus. Direct experience with solicitation and volunteer management skills are required in qualified candidates, as well as an awareness of donor prospect management methods. High proficiency in Raiser’s Edge or comparable fundraising software is mandatory.
