This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a small finance office, as well as overseeing administrative functions such as personnel and general administration. This position supervises a Staff Accountant focused on the preparation of invoices, collections and data entry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing accounts receivable and collections of overdue invoices
Managing accounts payable and general ledger data
Performing monthly bank reconciliations
Assisting in development the annual budget
Preparing monthly internal financial statements
Ensuring internal polices and controls are maintained
Preparing for the annual audit and all required tax filings
Managing cash flow to ensure that funds are available as needed
Processing payroll and administering the benefits program
Performing the duties of Office Manager
Supervising and mentoring the Staff Accountant
The successful candidate will be detail oriented, deadline driven, and able to manage multiple tasks in a small, fast paced office environment. The successful candidate will be an independent worker with strong interpersonal skills and precise written and verbal communications skills.
A BA/BS in Accounting or related degree and a minimum 5 years of experience managing full service accounting for a nonprofit organization is required. CPA certification is a plus. Demonstrated proficiency with both Quickbooks and Netforum Pro or similar accounting and Association Management Software is required.
