Operates imaging equipment according to radiological safety standards.
Performs procedure recording by working in the control room monitoring and documenting procedure images and events.
Associate may work in situations where they are required to handle medications during the distribution or administration process. They may have access to secured drug storage areas.
Performs removal of femoral artery sheath according to dept standards.
Assists physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, acts as scrub assistant, maintaining sterile conditions during clinical procedures.
Interacts with patients and families regarding the procedure and inform them about the expectations of the procedure. Teach patient and family about pre and post procedure physical conditions.
One to three years of formal training or education beyond the high school level as appropriate for license/credential below. (Bachelorâ™s Degree may be preferred)
One to three years related experience in healthcare preferred.
License / Certification / Registration
Registered Cardiovascular Technologist; Registered Radiology Technologist; OR Respiratory Therapist (Cert. or Reg.)
Works in a well lit, heated and ventilated area. Position requires considerable mobility throughout the facilities. Potential exposure to routine, communicable diseases through regular contact with associates and the public at large. Works with/around x-ray sources. Call shifts and 30 minute response time required.
