The Source for Women of Houston is a pioneering life-affirming non-profit holistic reproductive health care provider that exists to empower women to make healthy, informed choices in their lives. The Source supports Houston’s abortion-vulnerable women with medical services, education, therapeutic and reproductive health counseling, mentorship, material assistance, post-abortion counseling, as well as ongoing support for those who choose to parent or make an adoption plan.
Currently, The Source for Women operates three Reproductive Health Care Clinics providing a range of Client Services (counseling, training, etc.) and Medical Services (sonograms, STD/STI testing, well woman exams, etc.), that collectively are operating below full capacity. In the near term, the overarching objective is to bring all three clinics up to full utilization. It is anticipated that the current primary clinic will be brought to full utilization first, followed by complete expanded services in the Source’s other two existing locations. In the longer term, the vision is to expand to a minimum of seven Houston area clinics as a launching point to underpin the ultimate goal of serving the entire state of Texas and potentially beyond.
The Spring Branch reproductive health care clinic serves as the primary location in a comfortable community practice setting. The health care staff and clinical care providers provide the utmost professionalism in comprehensive reproductive health care and compassion, helping women at all stages of reproductive health make informed choices. This health center was opened in 2013 and is available to clients five days a week. In addition, the OB/GYN will serve clients and help build out teams in other locations throughout the city, including the main location in the Galleria, and the Northeast location. Currently, the OB/GYN serves clients in these three locations with a primary focus on the flagship facility in Spring Branch. It is the goal to model the services in Spring Branch at other locations and to expand from these three facilities to serve a wider audience of potential clients.
Available medical services include: Well Woman Exams, STD/STI Testing and Treatment, Pregnancy Tests, Ultrasound Exams, Counseling and Education. The staff provides well woman care from the inside out. They take the time to focus on women’s concerns and questions with informative discussions shaped around their personal health, history and values. Patient-centric services are designed to support the entire family in healthy choices and also bring medical assistance to people who are in distress or underserved in the community.
The Source for Women volunteer caregivers and professional staff understand that pregnancy decisions are emotional, private choices. Clients can feel confident in the information they receive because it's backed by research from caring professionals. The Source for Women does not discriminate based on age, race, nationality, religious affiliation, disability or any arbitrary circumstances. Interested clients will always find support in exploring the spiritual dimension of their choices. The personnel share their hospitality and the love of Jesus Christ in ways that are both practical and personal, and, while caring prayer support is always available to clients, it is never imposed.
