We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Analyst.
In this role, the successful candidate under the supervision of the Finance Manager, performs routine grants management/financial analysis tasks requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment.
Daily financial management of all grant accounts within the Research Division.
Prepare project budgets for newly awarded grants to correspond with the notice of award.
Send out terms of award notices to investigators and compliance staff to ensure study is compliant with terms
Reallocate and process personnel effort onto and off grant accounts.
Review and approve all purchases. Assists as necessary with justification of purchases on grant accounts.
Assist investigators with all sponsor audits; process and documentation.
Prepare financial portfolios for investigators (financial summary, detailed financial statements with projections, statement of lab staff support and extramural funding levels according to department requirements).
Facilitate transfer of grants for incoming investigators and outgoing investigators.
Review time and effort allocation with all grant related personnel and assist with the certification.
Prepare subcontract arrangements, pre and post award.
Facilitate financial close out of grant accounts to sponsor.
Liaison between SPA and sponsor on any pending documents.
Liaison between PI and SPA regarding financial matters, i.e. subcontract budgets, carry forward balances, etc.
Liaison between administrator and budget department to open accounts.
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in a related field is preferred, and/or 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Grants Management, Accounting, Bookkeeping or other related work experience is highly recommended. The successful candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of standard office software is essential, including proficiency with word-processing, spreadsheet and database software (e.g., Microsoft Office, preferred). Ability to multi-task and/or coordinate multiple assignments is required. Ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures, and effectively communicate detailed information to a diverse population, both verbally and in writing; excellent problem-solving skills is required
