Advertised Summary Job Description: The Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the State Pre-Health Education Program (SPREP). These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Application review and participant selection -Database design and management -Planning of special events and ceremonies -Designing and maintaining overall program schedule -Managing curriculum and students files -Coordinating summer internships -Coordinating research experiences -Coordinating with other CUMC offices that assist with programs. (IT, Financial Services, Health Services, Housing Services, Scholarly Resources, Student Services.) -Developing programs recruitment materials and travel to middle and high schools -Supervising the Program Assistant -Working with parents and the Parents Organization -Working with teachers, counselors and school prinicipals -Writing letters of recommendation for high school students -Serving as point person to communicate with prospective students, parents, and program participants -Maintaining programs website -Scheduling AV, Room Reservations, and Facilities -Tracking program alumni -Organizing college visits and field trips -Managing the budget and creating and submitting reports to State funding agency
Some weekend and evening work may be required to fulfill these responsibilities.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus two years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in program planning and working with grants is strongly preferred. Excellent communication and organization skills are essential. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Demonstrates strong commitment to programs that seek to increase access and opportunity for economically disadvantaged and underrepresented students. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint experience necessary.
