Under the general supervision of the Research Administration Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the budgetary and financial management and administration of extramural contracts, grants, and gifts from a wide variety of funding sources and all university generated research funds and cost share commitments for the Baskin School of Engineering (BSOE). Working as part of a research administration team, the Research Analyst proactively manages a portion of the BSOE's approximately 600 research awards from over 120 unique agencies for an estimated 100 Principal Investigators totaling approximately 34 million dollars annually.
The Research Analyst team develops processes for the BSOE, and provides budgetary analysis and innovative solutions to diverse types of problems and situations by applying university, state, federal, and private sector policies and procedures. The Research Analyst also ensures that costs to a research funds are reasonable, allowable, and allocable under cost principles.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sponsored projects administration, including finance and accounting experience in administering large budgets with multiple funding sources.
Experience working with university fund accounting and knowledge of OMB Uniform Guidance for grants and agreements with institutions of higher education, hospitals, and other non-profit organizations.
Substantial experience or knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Demonstrated skill in interpreting and applying complex university, state and federal regulations.
