Responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting the SAS reporting and analytics environment on the Hadoop platform, and serving as a hands-on data modeler, data analyst, report developer. Function as a SAS programmer/administrator. Responsible for maintaining the SAS service environment across all layers of usage. Supports department and campus executive leadership with data analysis, often in matters of high sensitivity and urgency.
Design, develop, test, document and maintain descriptive and predictive statistical data models and reports that provide actionable insights for campus administration. Maintain SAS database platform, database and report servers. Provides consultation and programming guidance to executive leadership on campus. Perform data analysis, validation and testing. Maintain and monitor SAS servers health, monitor daily processing of data integration jobs and ETL job. Design, develop, test, document database customization to assist in and enhance BI/reporting development. Monitor and maintain SAS services, servers and platforms. Maintain user access and security. Monitor backups. Performs other duties assigned.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field and 5+ years experience in SQL programming. In-depth knowledge of data mining in SQL data environment. Experience in developing in at least one object-oriented programming language. Ability to work well with people in all levels of the organization. Experience in a data analysis, data driven research and/or predictive analysis role is required. Ability to prepare and present reports and dashboards to diverse audiences is required. Displays attention to detail and accuracy. Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel), SharePoint. Excellent organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to communicate and collaborate with people at all levels of the organization.
Master's degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science and/or 10+ years in SQL and SAS programming in higher education where PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is the student information system and SAS data platforms. Certifications and experience in SAS tools, macros and programming. Experience in developing in the Hadoop platform. Machine learning, R programming, predictive and /or statistical analytics, Java or Python knowledge are all a plus. Experience with database administration and development and maintenance.
