This is a para-professional position located at the Canton Campus library. The successful candidate will: charge, renew, and discharge library books and materials; monitor the borrowing of materials; verify and shelve books and materials; check-in and oversee periodicals; aid library users in locating and using materials; aid users in electronic searches; library orientations; and perform related work as required.
Minimum of Baccalaureate degree; ability to communicate effectively and to work cheerfully and tactfully with diverse populations; ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to demonstrate telephone skills; ability to lift 30 pounds, bend and reach low and high areas of shelving; ability to stand during shift; ability to work independently.
Knowledge of library practices and procedures including the ability to file material, operate simple library machines, etc.; working knowledge of Microsoft Office; working knowledge of SIRSI system and LC a plus; experience in a customer service field.
Part-time non-benefited position
Hourly Rate: $17.00 an hour
Hours: 2 nights, Wednesday and Thursday Evenings 3:30 pm - 8:00 pm, (about 34 weeks supporting colleges classes September through June)
