Essential Function: Under general supervision from a designated mentor actively participate, plan, evaluate, and coordinate research projects for the Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine. Work with minimal oversight, mentor level 1 or 2 employees.
The primary responsibilities for this position will be to recruit cases and perform chart abstractions. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Screening hospital admission and discharge logs for potential stroke patients
Performing the consent process with patients and/or family members
Performing medical record chart review and abstract
Performing initial interview and follow-up interview with patients and/or family members
Obtaining blood samples
Shipping blood samples in accordance with IATA regulations
Performing blood pressure, weight, height, hip, and waist measurements
Performing patient home visits
Assisting in patient education
Requesting neuroimaging from hospital on enrolled patients and performing neuroimaging upload on enrolled patients
Act as a liaison with medical staff, University Departments, ancillary departments and/or satellite facilities
Maintaining regulatory documentation
Performing related duties, as assigned
2-5 years relevant experience
Previous experience in the field of Neurology
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
