Position Summary. The Department of Health Sciences at Gettysburg College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2018, specializing in public health. The Department of Health Sciences takes a multidisciplinary approach to the study of human health. Candidates should be prepared to teach introductory and upper-level courses in public health, global health, and the candidate’s area of specialization. Responsibilities include teaching five courses per year, which could be either classroom or laboratory courses; conducting a dynamic research program; and actively participating in the governance of the department and college. The successful candidate will also have opportunities to teach in the broader college curriculum through interdisciplinary courses and our First-Year Seminar program.
Qualifications. We seek an individual interested in teaching, advising/mentoring, and scholarship within the liberal arts. Candidates must have a doctoral degree in a public health discipline or a doctoral degree in a closely related field, paired with a Master of Public Health (MPH). Undergraduate teaching experience preferred.
