Primary Duties: Working independently, under general supervision, incumbent is the key resource/liaison in the Office of International Education (OIE), who performs a wide variety of complex administrative, analytical, research, developmental, financial, and technical duties while serving as an operational advisor to the interim Associate Vice President of OIE, and provides support as requested by the interim AVP to aid in the completion of his duties and projects; gives policy and process guidance to staff and faculty in the unit; and serves as the primary contact with other campus units and as an important contact point for the public.
The Office of International Education includes International Student and Scholar Services, Study Abroad and International Exchange programs, International Admissions and Recruitment, the English as a Second Language (ESL) Resource Center, and the International Training Programs..
The knowledge, skills and abilities listed above would normally be obtained through a bachelors degree and/or full-time equivalent training and one year of full time administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs.
The person holding this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
The duties of this position will include participation in a decision that may have a material/financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore, this is a designated position under the California State Universitys Conflict of Interest Code and the incumbent will be required to file a Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest and is subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position. This is considered a sensitive position. Current CSU, Chico employees are subject to a background check (including a criminal record check) if voluntarily moving into a sensitive position, regardless of any background checks previously conducted. This position is considered a sensitive position based on CSU guidelines. Incumbent is responsible for the safety and security of Level 1 data, sometimes also referred to as Level 1 protected data. PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS: This position alternates between remaining in a stationary position operating a personal computer for long periods of time and frequently moving about inside the office. Must be able to travel across campus to other offices and buildings for meetings and events.
