As the Respiratory Therapist, you are responsible for overseeing and participating in day to day clinical care of patients. Employees are involved in direct patient care face to face and in-home. Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for coordination set-up of DME / Respiratory equipment, responsible for training of patient / caregiver regarding equipment use Responsible for the clinical management of clinical respiratory patients Completes all clinical documentation including clinical notes, patient care plans and all associated documentation in a complete and timely manner Communicates effectively and efficiently with physicians and healthcare providers to facilitate healthcare delivery Participates in marketing efforts Adheres to OSHA guidelines and infection control procedures regarding blood borne pathogens Participates in on-call as required Participates in company meetings Assists in the resolution of operational issues in coordination with management Assists in facilitating excellent customer service
Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Nevada state license to practice respiratory care CPR certification 3+ years of experience as a respiratory therapist 2+ years performing PFT utilizing a body box 2+ years performing spirometry and other lung function tests Familiarity with ventilator management Access to reliable transportation, which will enable you to travel to patient / client sites 2+ years administering the following: Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), CardioPulmonary Stress Tests, Spirometry Must demonstrate knowledge of or ability to learn and apply to job functions, those state, and federal regulations applicable to the operating unit as well as clinical competence and superior knowledge of medical equipment and clinical protocolsPreferred Qualifications:Previous home health experience Experience working in a pulmonary office Careers with Optum.
