What is the opportunity? The successful energetic candidate will join the Technology team to provide technical systems management and business analysis for Futures, Clearing and Electronic trading applications. At RBC Capital Markets, our goal is to design, build and operate state-of-the-art clearing and electronic trading technology (processes, software and infrastructure) to provide our clients with a competitive advantage within our markets. In this role, the candidate will develop a strong understanding of leading Futures and Electronic Trading platforms and how our investment firm captures, manages, margins and clears trades with the world's largest exchanges.
What will you do?
Technical Leadership and Analysis, Planning, Implementation & System Management
Accountable for completing and managing the tactical processes and initiatives required to support and develop the futures electronic trading business
Provide recommendations on the improvement of the platform, cost management, resources, and IT escalation.
Manage the daily monitoring and testing of the trading platforms
Manage the interaction with our external vendors (such as Born Technology, TT, CQG, Bloomberg and various OMS/EMS providers)
Manage internal relationships with IT, compliance, operations as it relates to electronic trading platforms and connectivity
Manage integration with Middle-Office and Back-Office from electronic futures execution.
Manage and provide daily front line support to traders and customers
Develop and maintain electronic futures execution relationships for RBC Capital Markets from external and internal referrals.
Cross-market futures product with other RBC Capital markets Product Groups.
Build a strong relationship with all business partners to help them succeed with our solutions as well as effectively represent their requirements in further evolving
Research, analyze and explore different options and recommend solutions and designs that meet business requirements
Manage larger Production deployment projects and coordinate associated activities with our infrastructure partners.
Document operational processes for end user training and manage the Production knowledgebase.
What do you need to succeed?
Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering Degree (or equivalent), Business & Science
Experience with Trading Technologies, CQG, Bloomberg and Fidessa trading applications and architecture.
Experience working within fast-paced trading environments (trading pits, off-pit trading floors)
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
Knowledge of administrative roles at major futures exchanges (CME Group, ICE, MX, CFE and Eurex)
MS Windows Server and UNIX system knowledge
Experience with MS Word, MS Access and Outlook
Relational Database knowledge and programming language e.g. VBA scripting
Knowledge of the financial industry, particularly in the trading divisions of banks or brokerage houses
