Front desk reception and program support for this active and expanding Research Center, which focuses on Korea. Duties include front desk reception, answering telephones, faxing, copying, correspondence, filing, email, assisting affiliated scholars and visitors, providing support for receptions and events, and general clerical and office support. Related duties as required. The primary function of the Staff Assistant is to provide overall support for all staff and visitors at the KI, daily office operations and events, and assist the Director. Communications email, phone, greeting visitors, liaison with outside organizations, maintain and update the KI database of contacts, addresses General Office support: incoming/outgoing mail and maintain mailboxes, order office and event supplies, copying, scanning, maintain office equipment, maintain common areas, etc. Event support: speaker travel, lodging and paperwork; order food; set up, staff and break down of events; must be available evening and weekend hours as needed Meetings: support & schedule meetings, order and set up coffee/food, prepare outreach and gifts for visitors Faculty support: schedule meetings, travel, prepare financial paperwork Supervision of student assistant:s Sign in/out office keys, coordinate CGIS card swipe access with building management Preparation and distribution of KI mailings: newsletter, invitations, holiday card, special events Publications support: assist with mailing and distributing KI publications Support for outreach: materials, reports and proposals - information collection, research and materials preparations.

Korean language fluency. Experience working in an office environment.

Punctuality, professionalism, attention to detail, conscientious and thorough, ability to multi-task, discretion and a team player attitude are critical.
Office experience at Harvard is preferred.
The applicant should be organized, efficient and friendly, as well as flexible to adapt to the various demands of a small office.
Professional presentation and excellent communication skills are a must, as is the ability to juggle a variety of tasks.
Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
