BUILDING/PM SUPERVISOR, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE, Facilities-Repair and Maintenance (R&M), Facilities-Comprehensive Stewardship Group (CSG)-Operations and Maintenance-Repair and Maintenance, to join a group that is responsible for eighteen buildings within the MIT campus portfolio consisting of 3M GSF (gross square feet). Will provide leadership, planning, and direction to assigned group members. Responsibilities include assigning repairs and preventive maintenance tasks to appropriate individuals, tracking and reporting on the work, updating and implementing planned maintenance activities, and assuring that superior customer service is provided in the maintenance of MIT's buildings and systems.
REQUIRED: strong background in mechanical/electrical systems; a high school diploma (associate's or B.S. degree desirable); a minimum of five years of related experience; direct/related experience in repair and maintenance and/or facilities management; experience working in teams; excellent customer service, project management, and written and oral communication skills; expertise in one or more skilled trades (HVAC preferred), business management, or an engineering discipline; and working knowledge of computer systems, including the Web. Knowledge of labor relations is desirable. The position involves traversing MIT's 168 acre campus including campus field, city, and new construction sites; regularly entering and navigating all building and mechanical system spaces in order to oversee maintenance activities; and routinely accessing and conducting work in both small/confined and high spaces including roofs. The schedule for this position is Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M., but must also be available for off-hour emergencies.
