Construction Management has an outstanding opportunity for a CERC Program Operations Specialist. The Program Operations Specialist will work closely with the CERC Director and the Department of Construction Management Chair to ensure the development and organizational effectiveness of CERC, its grant funding, applied research, training and other programmatic priorities. The Program Specialist will report to the Administrator of the Department of Construction Management for grant management, budget projections and control, and all matters related to fiscal responsibility.
Charged with providing high-level organizational management and day-to-day operations of the center, the Program Operations Specialist will pursue sustainability of Center activities and be responsible for implementing policies and procedures while providing excellent customer service to our industry partners and participants. This requires significant independent judgment and extensive interaction and coordination with industry partners, governmental agencies, departments, and the Dean's office in the College of Built Environments.
Operations & Program Management:
Plan and coordinate research and outreach events including workshops, forums, and the CERC annual New Frontiers Conference and related events; develop marketing and agendas as well as registration and participant lists in partnership with CERC Director, Conference Chair, and Conference Technical committee.
Manage and maximize facility; coordinate scheduling, facilities, furniture and IT equipment maintenance, technology support, outreach opportunities, classes, and visits for potential clients of the center.
Support membership and applied research opportunities by supporting new industry partnerships and cultivating existing members. Provide excellent customer service to Center guests, event participants, and industry partners.
Support strategic planning, staffing needs and implementing policies and changes. Act as CERC liaison to UW departments as needed.
Grants and Fiscal Management:
Manage center budgets and fiscal oversight, including processing purchases and fiscal transactions on Center budgets, resource planning, revenue management and compliance oversight.
Support grants development and research management. Pre-award proposal and budget development and post-award budget management and compliance oversight.
Facilitate technical assistance or fee-for service work through budget development and contract management. Support professional relationships with funding organizations. Seek and support opportunities to integrate and partner with Industry partners and other UW operational units such as Capital Planning and Development and Facilities Services.
Outreach & Communication:
Manage marketing materials and website development for the Center, ensuring consistent and timely content, maintenance, and alignment with CERC outreach goals.
Create and develop Center and CM department faculty manuscripts, research products, reports and print materials. This includes editing, design production and dissemination activities.

Bachelor degree and a minimum of two years of managerial experience with budgets and grants.
Able to support and provide basic troubleshooting for IT resources
Flexibility in scheduling and approach some evening, early morning or weekends may be required.
Able to lift 50lbs (tables, chairs, etc) to manage facility resources and event preparations.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
