The University of Washington's HR Information Systems team has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Computer Specialist.
This position is open to University of Washington Human Resources employees only.
This position is a key participant in the support and continued enhancement of UWHIRES, the University of Washington's staff applicant tracking and candidate management system which is used to recruit candidates and fill thousands of regular and temporary staff openings per year, with more than 2 million user sessions annually.
Responsibility for new development and support of changes required to UWHIRES for both production support and change requests emanating from Workday's semiannual releases and weekly updates.
Build, maintain and improve integrations between UWHIRES and Workday.
Participate in the ongoing development, test, deployment and support of employment systems and employment reporting.
Work with HRIS analysts and developers to provide technical documentation of the UWHIRES system, and other documentation as needed.
Provide data analysis support and advanced SQL query development as required.
Work with HRIS staff and HRP Program staff to clarify system requirements, reports and applications.
Maintain strict confidentiality concerning a variety of sensitive HR issues and data.
Perform related duties as required.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or related field and minimum of 5 years of professional IT experience developing and maintaining database driven applications and/or web sites.
Minimum 4 years ColdFusion 9 or higher experience.
Minimum 2 years' experience with: -HTML, CSS -XML -SQL 2005 and related services
Experience in systems analysis experience, including requirements gathering, functional design, and technical design.
Working knowledge of web browser technology, features, and functionality.
Proven experience with unit and systems testing.
Demonstrated initiative, follow-up and the ability to prioritize effectively.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direction, independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills.
Demonstrated planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting skills.
Applying principles of accessibility in design.
Experience with web, data and application security issues and best practices.
Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills, and personal interaction abilities.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Related work experience in a HR (preferred), Payroll or Financial systems environment.
Knowledge of UW administrative computing systems, technological environment and infrastructure directions desirable.
Experience working with portal applications, ideally targeted towards HR or financial decision support.
Development experience in employment systems a significant plus.
Experience with Workday data structure, technology and integration platforms.
Experience with Test Driven Development or other agile methodologies.
Knowledge of IT accessibility issues for users with disabilities; familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices; experience testing for accessibility; and demonstrated ability to design content/applications with accessibility considerations.
