Responsible for operational oversight for MRS and MRS-managed international and domestic meetings, conferences and workshops, inclusive of the MRS Spring and Fall Meetings. Works with potential conference service clients to develop Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs), initial budgets and timelines. Works under the general guidance and direction of the Director of Meeting Activities.
-Manages the meetings operations team to service all MRS meetings and conference services events. -Prepares, oversees, and is accountable for tracking individual meeting event budgets. Prepares budget projections and budget vs. actual final reports. Pro-actively alerts Director when targets can’t be met.
-Manages Request for Proposal (RFP) process for venues, vendors and suppliers according to needs and budgets and monitors their performance.
-Responsible for problem resolution with meetings-related venues and vendors, as needed, to obtain satisfactory meeting results.
-Managing the conference client relationship, including any problem resolution as needed, and in support of Meeting Project Managers.
-Manages the Program and Exhibit Guide (PEG) preparation, including team leadership, for the Spring and Fall Meetings.
-Prepares informational and analytical reports as needed, in support of Meeting Activities Director.
-Responsible for coordinating meeting staffing for on-site operations for MRS Conference Services meetings in support of the team and in cooperation with Meetings Manager.
-Other duties as required.
Desired Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and/or experience.
-Professional certification, ex: CMP, preferred.
-Ten plus (10+) years of experience with meeting organization.
Special Requirements: 10-15% international and domestic travel, as needed.

-Familiar with most types of office equipment including copiers, computers, phones, scanners and fax machine.
-Periodically required to lift up to 30 pounds.
-Vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision, the ability to adjust focus and to differentiate colors.
