The Dreyfus Corporation is seeking an experienced writer to develop and deliver market-leading content to promote Dreyfus products and services to diverse audiences, including financial advisors, institutions, research analysts, retirement specialists, media, etc. S/he will be responsible for collaborating with Product Management, Sales, Investment Strategists, Marketing and Communications/Media partners in conceptualization and content creation that strengthens BNY Mellon's reputation as an industry leader. S/he will also be responsible for working with the Legal and Compliance teams to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. S/he will be responsible to:
Create, write and/or edit a wide range of sale and marketing materials in line with the Firm's mission, objectives and brand, Materials include but are not limited to: Brochures, sales ideas, white papers, thought leadership pieces and digital content including web content, e-mail copy, digital media, and social media posts.
Creatively leverage existing content, research, and other materials to meet needs for new content and package for use with varied audiences.
Work closely with Product Management team to understand product value propositions and positioning in order to translate that into clear and compelling content and communications.
Partner with North American Sales professionals to execute on a content agenda that supports their business objectives.
Help to identify inconsistencies and inaccuracies across product messaging and provide suggestions for rectifying such issues.
Keep a close pulse on the industry and competitive landscape.
Work closely with the in-house design team and/or external creative agencies to oversee design development and production.
Collaborate with Editorial professionals across Investment Management, especially in EMEA, to coordinate global content, projects and events.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required
At least 5 years of related work experience
Financial journalism background or institutional-quality investment writing experience highly preferred. Experience in Financial Services, Asset Management or Mutual Funds industry preferred.
Proven ability to write across a broad range - from technical copy targeted to sophisticated institutional investors to educational materials for retail individual investors.
Strong skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat; ability to learn online project management tools
Writing samples and writing test will be required.
Knowledge of global macroeconomic and capital market trends required, in addition to a strong understanding of investment concepts and ability to translate complex financial concepts.
Intellectually curious with a passion for doing great work.
Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work across the organization, interact at all levels of peers and senior management and earn respect and trust among business partners and team members.
Collaborative team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, newsroom-type environment with changing projects and priorities.
